I have a couple of questions.

1. Can anyone tell me what a stock '07 GT convertable would get in the 1/4?
2. Has anyone every used or heard of anyone using the Ford Racing Parts?
3. Why are members saying to use multiple manufacturers for an exhaust system,
is it better than just getting a full system from one manufacturer?
4. How difficult is it to install the HURST shifters?

I just bought a 2007 GT/CS in January and I am looking for some answers and advice on a couple of simple bolt on mods. My plan right now is to get the intake and exhaust done. I just bought the Ford Racing intake. Next, I am planning to buy a bassani x-pipe and catback system. Then I am planning on getting the HURST shifter. Has anyone heard anything bad about any of these products?

GT/CS 2007 - the 2007 gt 1/4 is like 12.5sec or so.

well as for the multiple manufacturers for the exhaust system, people like diffrent sounds and you hear things you like and dont like and you match the parts that sound they way you want them to and that way no one sounds exactly the same.

and the ford racing parts better known as ford racing performance parts or FRPP yeah lots of people use them especially for rear end gears because they are known to "whine less".

sorry dont know about the shifter.

Coming home soon!

Sup guys, well, as you can tell Im a new guy, so what's up?! Well, I am in the process of buying a 2000-2004 Mustang GT and I have a problem with it. The cars from the auction that I am getting them from has kinda high miles and so me and the wife decided to just kinda gut it and replace alot of parts into it. I was going to mod it anyway to make it fast, but this is all good too.

So my question is, is what kind of engine or crate engine or set or something do I need to fix this problem? I want to be able to get some GREAT performance out of my car, but at the same time I need to be able to drive it to and from the base on a daily basis. I see how yall said "watch someone ask the same questions after 2nd page" lol, so I decided to change up the question. LOL. But yea, also, do I need new headers and tranny or anything like that to go along with the new modded engine?? Im total newb here so I'm going to take your advise whitestang but I also need to know if they will be the same idea for the new engine than a stock one in a GT.

Well, I have confused myself sitting here ramble on...so Im going to stop. LOL, check you guys later!

welcome to all the newbs that have posted here. just a couple of suggestions. Start a new introduction thread here to introduce yourselves to the whole site.

if you have a tech question, more than likely it is not going to get answered here. i would suggest going to the respective tech section for your model year and post the questions there.

welcome again guys

just was thinking, you listed headers a pretty good distance away from midpipes. Don't forget that when you buy a midpipe for stock manifolds they are made to fit that only unless you plan on customizing them to fit headers. but there is a difference. when you buy headers and you've already put a midpipe on, youll have to sell it and buy one made for LT's. I THINK... that midpipes for stock manifolds should fit shorty's though. atleast ive seen one brand that did.

Alright we have been getting alot of questions about what to put on your car when its stock or just about stock. So here is a list of things to get that you will benifit the most from without hurting your motor.

1. Cat-back exhaust, you can't have a mustang without good sound to it
(MAC, Magnaflow, Borla, SLP, Bassani, Flowmaster)
2. Mid-pipe either h-pipe or x-pipe. If you are worried about inspection or emmissions get a catted h-pipe or x-pipe. ( MAC, BBK, Bassani but wouldn't reccommend it since it sounds like a loose convertor sometimes.
3. GEARS, definately a must if you can afford it cause the labor at most shops is 300 to install. 4.10 gears are the norm and there is not a difference between gas milage of 4.10 and 3.73 so get 4.10 if you want the most out of your car.
4. Shifter, cause 3rd gear is a pain in the butt. (pro-5.0 or steeda tri-ax)
5. Upper plenum (Accufab, C&L, Dragon, Trick Flow)
6. Throttle bodie, wouldn't go with a 75mm unless you have heads and cams cause it can actually hurt you. (Accufab, MAC, FRPP, Dragon, Trick Flow)
7. Tuner or chip, with the gears and all the modifications you can squeeze some extra power out with a tune, preferably on a dyno. (SCT, Diablo)
8. Underdrive pulleys, reduces drag on the accesories. (STEEDA, MAC)
9. If you need a clutch (Centerforce dual friction, closest to stock feeling, SPEC)
10. Springs, to lower that 4x4 ride height (Eibach, Steeda)
11. Longtube headers, a good improvement on exhaust flow over the stock but some might have problems with inspections (MAC, BBK, Hooker)
12. CAI, just get a little breath of colder air, only expect between 3-7 hp from these (JLT CAI or RAI highly recommended, Densecharger, Mac, BBK but don't recommend getting a chrome CAI cause it actually gets hotter air, and of course K&N)

Well thats all i can think of right now, with these modifications you will be started on the fast track to having a pretty fast car with a mean sound. And should be running in the 13's to high 12's depending on driving skills.
With #10 (bold) I'm about to take that path! Need a little help with some questions i have! See Thread Suspension Question. Help me out!

My main question is will I have to to CCplates? I am also inbetween with was orignally going with the Eibach Pro Kit Spring Set http://www.americanmuscle.com/eibach-pr ... coupe.html

But I found these H&R Super Sport Springs. http://www.americanmuscle.com/h-r-sport ... 96-04.html I think this will give me a good looking stance!

I am also going with Stange Ajustables Shocks!

Please Help me out!
