just to clear this up, someone said earlier there will be no difference in fuel effieciency between a car with 3.73's and 4.10's. There will be a difference, the car with 4.10 will get worse gas mileage because you will be at higher rpm's on the highway, so obviously you will get worse gas mileage. And with a throttle body that is too big you will loose air velocity, too small and there is too much restriction, too big and there is not enough air velocity. everything else i have agreed with. Good list

IMO ANY OIL THAT CAN LUBRICATE GOOD ENOUGH TO IMPROVE FUEL MILAGE, MUST ALSO BE FREEING UP SOME HP AS WELL...

[quote=weasel_marine;720678]Sup guys, well, as you can tell Im a new guy, so what's up?! Well, I am in the process of buying a 2000-2004 Mustang GT and I have a problem with it. The cars from the auction that I am getting them from has kinda high miles and so me and the wife decided to just kinda gut it and replace alot of parts into it. I was going to mod it anyway to make it fast, but this is all good too.
So my question is, is what kind of engine or crate engine or set or something do I need to fix this problem? I want to be able to get some GREAT performance out of my car, but at the same time I need to be able to drive it to and from the base on a daily basis. I see how yall said "watch someone ask the same questions after 2nd page" lol, so I decided to change up the question. LOL. But yea, also, do I need new headers and tranny or anything like that to go along with the new modded engine?? Im total newb here so I'm going to take your advise whitestang but I also need to know if they will be the same idea for the new engine than a stock one in a GT. Well, I have confused myself sitting here ramble on...so Im going to stop. LOL, check you guys later! i've seen stangs with superchargers on 100k miles no problem, but sooner or later you are going to want more power out of that pig . You will hit a wall at 400 h.p. till you forged your internals. you have choices to make:1. Should you drop in a 3 or even a 4 valve? 2. Should you stay with the 2 valve and build it? Me personally, will stay with my little 2 valve and hang with the others.

nice list, glad theres a sticky for this, helps out people alot. Ive got a few mods on mine, not quite the list obviously but great list to check out for next mod ideas as well, plus all the replies after it as well. I was thinkin though, maybe a sticky on exhaust setups as well, the dif combos between brand, h's & x's, cats vs. no cats, that kinda thing would be good too, I know i had to do alot of research to find a great setup for my last stang to get the perfect sound i wanted. this new mustang (new to me, its a 99) is close but I'm gunna swap my american thunder catback from the 01 and mate it with the mac o/r h on the 99.
