? difference between a blow through and draw through maf

? difference between a blow through and draw through maf


This has been very confusing for me. What are the pros and cons? What is the tuning difference? I will be running a vortech bypass valve that is open while idling closes under throttle then reopens when throttle is closed... Any help?

As far as I know the main differences are tuning and given you take the same maf and run it blow through, then run it draw through the blow through will peg easier. I may be wrong though.

its a abaco mass air and the guy before me was making over 900 rwhp so I hope I dont peg it

draw through MAF's are located before your blower/turbo. the blower sucks the air through the maf basically. not as accurate and you have to run a bypass back into the intake AFTER the MAF or it will throw off the readings.

Blow Through MAF's go after the blower/turbo and read the air flow as close to the Throttle body as feasable. they are more accurate and you can run a blowoff valve as long as the valve is before the maf and as far away from it as possible. they may peg slightly sooner than a draw though but i doubt its that much.

I am using a vortech bv57 which is open at a idle and closes when throttle opens will this be a issue?
