Rear diff rebuild + gears
Hi so im pretty sure my clutch pack is done so im gonna get some new gears (since its gonna be open) and was wondering should i just get a rebuild kit or a new diff the guy at the shop said he would do the rebuild and gears for $350 does that sound right? o and i was thinking abt getting the 4.10's but a friend of mine said i wont be getting any traction so im more leaning towards the 3.73's what do you guys think?

search is your friend.
350 is a good deal. and unless you are upgrading to 31 spline axles just get the carbon clutch rebuild kit. and 4:10's vs 3:73's has been debated more times than a hooker has been shared

traction is only as good as your tires will allow, 4:10s with good tires will be just fine.

yeah...control arms good tires and a nice set of springs and you shouldn't have a probelm with traction.

id go 4.10's but thats just my opinion, as far as the traction goes its more so how your suspension and tires are setup vs the gears so to speak...yes if you take a factory car and compare it with 3.73 and 4.10's the tires are gonna break loose easier with the 4.10s but if youve got the supporting suspension or plan on it you might as well get them.

Im not trying to be an ass but think of this logically. This forum is pretty slow as it is. How many new threads in this section in the last two days, maybe 8-10 IF that? In nearly 50% of the threads I look at theres always people saying "search, just search, and so forth". So if everyone did search vs actually making a thead this fourm, and section in particular would be even more dead than it already is.

4.10s FTW if you going to stay NA for a while then 4.10s are the way to go. i get traction just fine and im prolly making more power than you (unless you have a good amount done) the rebuild would be just fine and 350 sounds fair. unless you really know what your doing as far as the gear install goes i would have a pro do it
