Vortech S-trim to T-trim is really worth it?

I have been quoted a great price from Frank a Vortech on a T-trim upgrade. Is it really worth it? What should I see as far as efficiency, peak and average hp?

I just told him I know a company that makes a impeller upgrade that is supposed to improve it as much as a T-trim upgrade and offered my a better price on the T-trim upgrade.

Here's that stats for bought.

Vortech V-1 T-Trim Supercharger
The supercharger of choice for street/strip vehicles with modified engines.
Fits engines up to 825 horsepower. Available with straight or curved discharge and clockwise or counterclockwise rotation.

Max Speed: 55000 RPM
Max Boost: 26 PSI
Max Flow: 1200 CFM
Max Power: 825 HP
Peak Efficiency: 73%

Vortech V-1 S-Trim Supercharger
Max Speed: 50000 RPM
Max Boost: 20 PSI
Max Flow: 1000 CFM
Max Power: 680 HP
Peak Efficiency: 72%

The thing is I'm already spinning the S-trim to 56000 rpm.

I say go for it man. You can spin the blower slower and yet still gain more power without increasing the overall heat produced by it.

That would change depending on the motor it's on also. A ysi trim is 2500-3000 also.

I couldn't spin it much faster than I'm now. I hard to make 600 with an s-trim,

It wouldn't be to expensive if you sell of the s-trim. Afterwards you would be much happier, making more power and it won't be as hard on the motor.

I think he was asking for info about a t-trim upgrade, not weather he should sell it and go turbo. Maybe im wrong though?

Sure he was but I was just adding my two cents. If he wants a dyno queen then the T-trim would work well. If he want to run a number there are better ways of doing so. I currently have a friend that is totally disappointed in his t-trim setup.

I be luckey to get 1500. Then I could sell my 425 overdrive crank pulley I just bought not, to mention my 8 rib setup. Then I can tear into my engine and change out the blower cams. Then 5k for a decent turbo setup to meet my needs. It's not practical.

I'm happy with my little S-trim it's just past it's abililty. It more than lived up to it's claims. It's trapped 130 when I made 80 less hp.

Well no the conversion is to much. I wouldn't want anything D1SC or smaller in procharger. A good used novi 2000 would be ok.

If I went real big I'd go to a YSI-trim. It would fit on my bracket and support over 1000 hp.
