to iso or not to iso....that is the ?
I picked up a set of eibach pro kit springs tonight...Im debating the pros and cons of running hem with or without iso's....will they ruin my spring cups? etc. etc.? Opinions wanted! lol

i run mine with no iso's with no problems...you can do the duck tape around the tops and bottoms of the springs theory, thats what i did

springs are hardened and your control arms are not i dont care how you look at it rub something hard against something softer than it and it WILL wear away

somehow I think they would wear through tape of any sort? If I dont like the drop then I'll make it up with the springs...not the iso's

i have also heard of taking them out and packing the spring perches with grease, helps lube and keep squeeks and stuff from happening. i know that they are there for a reason but if its really going to "wear" that much how come i never heard of it happening? not ripping on u Unix, your a smart dude and have helped my plenty of times on here, im just trying to look at it from another angle thats all

rub an aluminum stick against a steel stick for a year and see what happens to them.. put rubber between them and then see. when metal rubs on metal its bad and requires some sort of bushing or lubrication (oil, grease) even then it still wears! there is not one moving part on any car that is metal on metal w/o some sort of protection its like running your car w/o oil or wiping your ass before you poop.. it just dont make no sense lol

"""""If you don't want to cut your stock springs. Steeda has a lowering kit that lowers the front 1.24'' and the back 1.00''. That will give the rake your looking for. If you cut your stock springs just make damn sure that they're even. We cant have a shabby lookin cobra out there. lol.
P.S. Its not a real good idea to remove the spring isolators. doing so will cause slop in your steering and handling as well as create more road noise than you allready have.""""""""" my brother posted this on svtperformance a few weeks back hes one of the smartest mechanics i know lol Lowering My Cobra - SVTPerformance thats the link to the thread

No isos. I have me and my buddies have never ran isos, and weve never had a problem. Plus, the prokit isnt that big of a drop, so may as well get a little bit ore out of them.

No matter what anybody says I left mine in. Especially on the rear. That's more of what you feel comfort wise. I'm not sacrificing ride quality to get another 3/8" drop all the way around. I MAY, in the future, take a top or bottom out of the front. NOT both, just one or the other for a tad more of a drop in the front. I may purchase thinner polyurethane ones for the front instead of the stockers and put all poly's in the front to grab another 3/16's drop without having to worry about not having ISO's. But it's your car, your choice. Hope that helps a little
