MMR edelbrock intaker adapter plate?

This great product from MMR allows you to use a stock or aftermarket plenum such as the C&L, Trick flow, or Accufab on the Edelbrock intake manifold, this also allows you to keep ALL emissions components. Direct Bolt on, no modification required!

My question is, wouldn't the plate limit the flow of the intake considering the opening of the plate for the plenum is smaller the the orginal opening of the intake? If so, wouldn't also effect it's power band and flow numbers that edelbrock says?

yes and no. a good flowing plenum and t/b will flow well, but will not flow as much as per say the edelbrock adapter.

I really think the way to go is just get the Sullivan adapter and do it right. If you are needing an intake as radical as the Vic Jr, I would think that you would just want to go ahead with getting a nice upper that will flow like a bandit at the higher RPM's. However, this plate should satisfy (and disappoint) alot of people as it will give the average joe the ability to adapt the Vic Jr. to his car.

Sullivan adapter? I stuck between this or the tfs intake with an oval throttle body. The hard part with the tfs is finding the oval coupler for the oval tb.

I just thought of something? Do you think the alternator will be in the way on a 2V?

Yes, it will and you need a 1.5" spacer to make it work. A 2" composite style spacer would be my choice- They cost about $20.

The hood clearance is something I never got to actually measure before I lost interest in this set up. I would assume that, at the least, the under hood insulation would have to come out. MMR has some type of inline adapter for the FRPS- just call them and ask. I don't think it's listed on their site. However, I figure you would want to go return style with atleast one A1000 pump anyway.

Have you looked at the Logan?

How about mounting it sides ways? It is a square bore? It might allow for a smaller spacer? I guy on another forum said he has 2" spacer and iac is still hitting the alt and has to rum a remote iac.

Jive, I wish I could answer all of your questions on this, but I never got any further than what I have already explained. All in all, I believe you should be prepared to fork over around $1500 for a really good intake. That's why the Edelbrock lost it's luster to me- Once you figure the intake, rails, adapter, spacer, and the headache, it just doean't look like a killer deal anymore. I know the TF ends up being alot cheaper, but it is still based on the Bullitt intake and I don't see where anyone has achieved a world of greatness by switching to it. The PI intake remains the only true sensible intake (on most applications) to run on a 2V IMO.

Well the bullitt is good for 30+ on a supercharged car. and the TFS is a little better because of the alternator being inverted allowing more room for bigger and straighter intake runners is what I was told.

I know what you mean by one part not making a world of difference but it's a combination of lot parts correctly matched that do that. I also have my S-trim boxed up to ship to Vortech to have a T-trim upgrade.

Hpp racing has something that should work but I'm not sure on the price yet.

Plus another company makes them to fit and custom builds. The one they have now will except a a 75mm stock style tb or a 90mm 5.0 type. I going to contact them tomorrow and see if they can build in oval body TB style. I will also have them leave off the egr flange.
