Lowering springs and tires...........
I just got my FR500's 18x10 and 18x9. I was going to do 305/45/18 on the back and 275/40/18 on the front and drop the car with H&R Super Sport Springs (96-04 GT/V6) I was wondering if you thought this may rub? In the front or the back?
Thanks Scott |

It shouldn't. But with suspension stuff you never really know. Call Maximum Motorsports and see what they say.

I see BOTH sets rubbing
![]() I highly recommend you forgo the 45 series out back and go 30. You WILL rub on that wheel out back as it is 28.78" diameter . The 315/30/18" tire I run is 25.7" and VERY close with 1.5" more clearance. You can fit a 285/35/18" as it is the same diameter as my 315/30" and a nice size for a 10" wheel. I think you are best served with NO MORE than a 295 in a 35 series. As for fronts, I would say a 275 is a bit large for a 9" rim. I run them on my Winter wheels and a 265 is a better fit, IMO. You should also stay with a 35 series on an 18" wheel. You will very likely rub on anything taller. HTH Jazzer

H&R Super Sport Springs are 1.75 & 1.5, so it is a bit on the aggressive side of a drop.
I recommend a 265/35 (f) and 285/30 (r) for good fit on your wheels and no rubbing. I also recommend you get the same tires all around. You are going to be dealing with different compounds and think it is best stay consistant on your shoes. This is not necessary, however, for a set of DR's for the 1/4. HTH Jazzer

You WONT get gapless around tires
![]() You are going to have to settle for some space on your ride. You can get it pretty tight with an S197 as they have seriously rolled fenders right from Ford. Jazzer

OK, stay 35 (f) & 30 (r) for no rubbing. Maybe deal with some rub and go 35 out back, but should be on the liner only, so not a huge deal.

I DON'T see you getting away with a 40 series in that width on H&R Super Sport Springs
![]() You WILL rub on heavy bumps, so why not go 35 series and gain some room? If you are trying to kill that gap with tire, you WON'T do it! Jazzer
