Just a Few questions
Ok so I did some reading last night and from what i was reading the 2 valve heads are only good till roughly 400 hp. So before i do any forced induction would it be better to go to a 3 valve or a 4 valve head? Which heads would be better for a turbo application? The car that it would be getting done to is a 2004 GT with an auto trans. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

dont use the stock short block. If you are going to switch heads and all i would just get a whole new engine. if your going turbo then you can have low compression and build the engine to what you want it for. also youll need a new trans to take the power, then youll need a stronger rear then youll need suspension to hold the power... it never ends.

these heads dont flow all that great, and hits the 400 range limit N/A. they can make power with boost. the rotating assembly stock is not the strongest, most will say keep around 400rwhp.

thanks for the info, i guess i didn't read the thread all the way through. So i should just go get another block and build the bottom end for boost and buy some different heads?

Back on topic. It really depends on what your power goals are. If you only want 400/400 then I would stick with a centri SC. It's cheaper and will get you there easily. If you want 500/500 then the 2v heads will still get you there with a built short block. You would have to get a new wiring harness and 4v heads to do a swap and personally it's not worth the extra $$$. Going turbo on our model of Mustang you have to get a tubular k member for clearance for the piping. That will cost some bank too on top of buying a turbo setup. It's all do able...just depends on how deep your pockets are.

ok so all in all the easiest way with boost is the supercharger then? Although the money is an object and i dont make alot of it being in the military my wife wants to go turbo even though she doesnt know anything about cars except what i have told her. I think she likes it because my boss has a 87 LX with an 70 millimeter turbo running in the low 9's. But im sure with what you all are telling me and what i tell her im sure i can convince her to go with a supercharger.

Nothing more funnier than whooping a fast car with a lowly 2v though.

She wouldn't know the difference. The centri looks like a turbo anyway minus the exhasut side of a trubo. it will drive almost the exact same way. Power will come on about 2500 RPMs and continue to build.

centri. sc are not bad but I would turbo over it. And no KEEP your stock block! Just hone it. The stock blocks can take 1000hp. With your auto and going turbo(if you choose) you will need to get a smaller exhuast housing to build boost quick with the auto. I have an auto and asked about it. I prefer roots blowers myself. But centri's are are cheaper! and can make good hp. But think about your torque too man. get forged internals top and bottom end. and look up Lentech auto. They specialize*(sp) in the Ford auto tranny's! good to 1000+ hp. just my 2 cents
