Calling all KB 2.1'ers (and 1.7's)

Hey guys i got a guy that is custom fabbing up new intakes for the kb. Much more efficient. He has been bouncing ideas off kb techs for awhile too. I told him i would post here and get some possible buyers. I have been waiting 8 months for him to say he will make more.

He made 585 hp dyno'd last run (Thursday) with 20 psi on the 2.1. The manifold flows much better! The 2.1 is a huge restriction with anything really above 9 psi, even kb's website says that.

Anyway's just letting everybody know, give me a message and ill get ya more details and updates on progress (and pics with email). Should be in the 500-700 range. And will use a cobra intake setup.

Haha nice, that when you plan to go ahead and get the kb setup going?

I know you decided against it this year.

I would like some details. Not sure what your talking about. What kind of fabbed intake is making?

Oh, And how did he get to 20 psi on that 2.1? For some reason I thought you could only go up to 14psi. What would I need to do to get 20 psi on my 2.1? 585 That's Awesome!!

the intake on the 2.1L is what holds us back from making big power, this will address that issue. 600rwhp is possible now

Yeah it is pretty much like the MPH one. Flows the same (or a bit better) and is 500 bucks cheaper.

Biggest restriction is the manifold and the tb. I ran 16 psi and only had a gain of about 15 hp, if that. With air flowing they can spin that thing hard! But it won't be really streetable at 20. 16 is the reliable limit (with the intake), maybe a bit more.

For 20 psi on the 2.1 you will need cams, heads, bolt ons (with the intake), and one hell of a tuner!

Bump, there has to be some more interested than me and limited! Even with 9psi it will give you stable gains. It will make every pound of boost efficient, not stretched for. from 9 to 14 psi i didnt get near the ratio of gains i did from 1-9, because of the small manifold.

Going out of town for awhile. Give me a pm if anybody is interested so i can tell the guy! Gotta make sure he makes a few extra for us MM'ers

haha ya, thats a lot cheaper than the one MPH has though. He spent a lot of time flow benching and dyno testing. I wouldn't expect 500 More people that agree to buy them though he would probably bring down the cost.
