strange noise

ok all of a sudden i've been hearing this strange noise coming from the front of the car i believe. It goes wwrraannt (like the noise your door makes if it needs to be greased up.) kinda hard to describe. Can anyone tell me what this noise is. I only hear it when i get ready to drive. I put the car in first, let out on the clutch and then before i move a foot "wwrraant" So if anyone could help me with this diagnostic it would be great and really appreciated. My friend said it sounds like a suspension bushing. Could this sound effect anything?

I think if a bushing were shot to shit youd have more issues than when you describe it..Such as noise when hitting a bump, dip, pothole whatever vs just when you first start to take off.

Thats goofy. Maybe someone else will have some input from a personal experience, beats me though, bunch of things a noise could be coming from. Got a dead hooker hangin under there maybe?

they could be sticking.. try taking off the front calipers and pushing the pistons all the way in with a c clamp then put everything back together and bleed them again.. see if that helps.. i know its a pain in the ass but .. meh

well i figured out what the noise was after taking off all the calibers and rebleeding the brakes, it wasnt the brakes nor suspension parts. i noticed that where my exhaust goes over the axle, the little ( n ) portion of the exhaust pipe that goes over the axle, is actually rubbing against the axle on the driver side and passenger side. so i guess that solves my problem of the mystery noise. but my question is, could this hurt anything?

pics for reference (not my exhaust but it will do)

It will continue to rub and rub till it ribs a hole in the exhaust. Try to jack the pipe around a bit and move it back. You may be able to get some more space in there. You should be able to pull it back just a little bit more. If not, try some hi-temp silicone or something on the axle to buffer the pipe hitting it.

you could take a torch to it a heat it ever so slightly to "bend" it back some. Thats what Id do, just dont hold it in one place...kinda heat it all over, then pull it.

you'll then have to heat up the pipe somewhere back behind the place where you just bent it to straighten out your pipe. I think if I were you Id take it to a muffler shop. They'll do exactly what I just said to fix it and probably wont charge about 10 bucks or so. Just whenever they start straightening the pipe, get behind the car a tell them up/down whatever so that its right to your satisfaction. No big problem, they can do it in about 5 minutes.

you probably didn't hear it while driving because the exhaust is too loud

I've seen this before. Check the hangers to be sure they didn't get bent and where possible with the floating flanges see if you can rotate the assembly one way or the other to pull it away from the axle.

if you don't fix it it WILL eventually rub right through.
