A few more questions.....(please?)
Alright guys I know I ask alot question but I need to know so that I can have a plan. Alright I've decided I'm goin with a forged bottom end on the new motor. But I was wondering about raising the compression up to like say I don't know 10:1 or so. What does everyone have to say about that? Good, bad, go, or no go? And Im talking about milling the heads just so you know. And what about a port and polish job? Is it worth it on the stock heads? And I have heard alot of crap about the 5.0 stroker motors......what the deal? Are they good if built right or is just one of those things? I would love to do a stroker motor but Im a little skiddish about it. Any advice or other suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance

10:1 is fine if you're staying NA. I've been told that nitrous loves high compretion as well if you're considering it. According to Rodney at Rocket Performance here in Hampton, VA that is. If you plan on a higher stage cam from HiTech, CMS, Comp...blah, blah, then a PP of your stock heads will benefit you for more power combined with a good set of cams. By stroking the 4.6 the piston is coming out of the bottom of the cylinder more. I've heard good and bad about it. Honestly though if you're going NA it's probably not going to net you that much more power per $1 spent to build a stroker. The best thing to do if you want more displacement is a bigger bore and wet sleeved. You're talking some big bucks there though.

cant mill all that much on these heads, if you want high compression just buy high compression pistons. as far as more cubic inches/stroke if that what your after just swap in a 5.4 & be done with it.
