Slipping supercharger belt ?
What are the symptoms of a slipping supercharger belt? I have a new forged engine with less than 500 miles on it and am experiencing a strange jerking/ surge at about 4K rpm in 1st gear if accellerating hard. Haven't noticed it at any other time or gear; the engine pulls smoothly in all gears as long as I don't suddenly floor it (in 1st). I'm thinking my belt might be slipping. Details: new engine, P1SC 8lbs, new belt tensioner, new belt but I went with a Goodyear Gatorback belt-not the Gates belt recommended by ATI. Other members have reported belt slippage -just wondering what to look for.

Check your boost guage if you have one. If it's not climbing when you punch it like in other gears I'd say it's a good possibility you have some slippage. I'd look into getting an 8 rib setup.
