My car was supposed to be back today from houston (4-5 hours) today. The car had to be left down there because they could not get it to crank. This is Houston Performance by the way. Given that my car has 148,000 miles on the stock motor, he said the lifters were collapsing because they are just flat wore out. So the people i had take the car down there just came back. He said that he would order the lifters. Everything else in the heads has been replaced also. My problem is that he had other cars piling up since mine was giving him problems. So i had to pay him for what he has done so far and he said he had to jump on the other cars and put mine off till next week. WTF? My thing is.... Now that i payed him for it, i feel like he may just keep putting it off and who knows. Can anyone make me feel better

naw i paid for it. And the tune also but since he hasnt even started it yet then he cant tune it. The only thing i have left to pay for is the lifters. Still SUX bad.

I always go to houston performance and they always get my shit done.. they keep a strict schedule so maybe that's why they said next week.. I'm sure they'll get it done but it sucks that you live that far

yeah no doubt it sux to be 5 hours away. Hardhitter, they seem to be cool guys to you or what? I have only talked to them on the phone since i cant leave work to deal with a mustang. You think they're trustworthy guys and can make it right?

i would say let him know ur mad and tell him to get that shit done but u also want him to do a good job so its kinda u to u looks like u gotta wait... look at it this way u r in a better situation then me i havent had my car in 4 months due to fixing from a crash and there doin all insurance fixes first before mine

i have no problem with waiting i guess but i just wanna know its going to be a priority since he has been paid already. ya know? It just seems easy to put it on the backburner since the money is already in his pocket.

With 148k on the stock block I couldn't imagine the lifters being any good with that cam. Everything will work out in the end. If they have a schedule to keep to I could see them putting it off until next week plus you just ordered the lifters, so it'll take some time for those to come in, too. It sucks not having your mustang back right away, but on the up side it will sound mean with those cams.

Oh, and you better post a vid once you get it back.

ha yeah on the upside it will. In a way it is POSSIBLE to work out decently....

I work for a gas company out on pipelines. anyway, our company won a lawsuit with one of our customers so lately guys have been volunteering to go ALL OVER south texas to pull our meters from the pipelines since they are no longer a customer. I would volunteer for next weekend (10 days from now) to go down there if i could bring the car back. But if not, F*ck volunteering. LOL. Its overtime and all but piss on that. It would just work out to be able to get it then. Hopefully they wont have to have it longer than that.

I can see them asking for payment on the work that they've already done so far, but not on the work they will do in the future! Paying ahead for a job never helps it get done any faster in my experience. Good luck - hope they do the right thing.

well i know he hated to tell me that... But this is what gets me. On the phone, he acted like he was basically giving up on it, like, he was going to send it back to me like that. not running and just fucked. To me, thats what he sounded like. So i asked, what needs to be done. he told me and i said well, throw the new lifters in. He acted like that wasnt what he wanted to hear. but who knows, i guess we will just have to see how it goes. very

i dont wanna sound like a dick and this probably isnt going to make you happy, but dude you should have never paid up front for work that has not been completed. especially if the guy sounded like that on the phone. i hope that you get your car back and everything goes smooth. good luck and post videos

Thats exactly how im feeling man. I just hope they are honest guys and get the car right because if the car is not right, i have a feeling it would be a great deal of problems being that im not going to pay for someone to ruin my car.
