Cam installation - Comp cam stage II

Going to be installing my cams as soon as they come in. my question is, since im breaking the motor down to that point, how much more work would it be to just pop the heads off?

I know a very respectable engine builder here close by that says he can get me a good deal on port n polishing the heads... So i was just wondering how much more work does that take? also, what have most of you all paid to get yours P&P'd?
