02 4.6 V8 Enigine Rebuild Kit

Anyone know of a resonable place to get a Enigine Rebuild Kit for a 2002 4.6L SOHC Mustang Gt? Or a good place to maybe get a new Enigine?

Thanks

as far as the rebuild, what's wrong with the motor you have now (ie. no oil press., knocking, hole in the block, etc.)?

I'd just start shopping around as you have time if your not in a rush. junk yard's that have a lot of light truck's is your best bet. look for a 97-98 as they have forged cranks from the factory. around here I'd expect to pay about 500ish for a complete 5.4 (didn't have to buy mine as my engine builder threw in a good block as part of a sponsorship deal & will be all new rotating parts, so I only really needed a block)

They are sayin that it is the wrist pin ??? It all started when the # 4 spark plug ejected. Then they said timing chain etc so towed it from Ford & bought the whole timing chain kit. Took it to a shop because it still had a knock. They said either the lash adjusters were bad or wrist pin. So went with the cheaper which was the Lash Adjusters & that didnt fix it... So now they are saying that If i pay to replace the wrist pin might as well rebuild or just put a new enigine in it since it has 123k miles.... I think that a rebuild kit would be cheaper but I am not 100% sure.

Check out Sean Hyland Motorsprots as well. He has rotating assemblies as well. They are forged, as well.

if you just drive & enjoy your car as is, then just get a used pi motor & drop it in (thousands cheaper than a rebuild) if you future plans involve a higher h/p combo (f/i, nitrous, etc) then have it rebuilt with a forged bottom end

Yikes! 4 grand?

Here is rotating assemblies or short block kits from SHM (Sean Hyland Motorsports). They are only rated to 650 and 7000 RPMs, but how much do you really need on the street?

Sean Hyland Motorsport - 1996-04 Ford Mustang GT and Cobra 2V and 4V Forged Rotating Assemblies

Oh, yeah the blocks are aluminum, too, versus iron.
