Help me build a budget 2v

My car has only 27k on it, but i want to build a motor for it where i dont have to worry about breaking it .. I scored a long block out of a 02 crown vic with a rod knock .. Im hoping i can reuse the stock crank and just get it grounded down . What are my options for forged rods and pistons? I wanna stay around 10:5-1 to 11:1 CR.. Basically, the car is staying N/A but will get the juice .. What are you guys ideas? im new to the 4.6 game (im a chevy guy)

just curious but if your wanting to build a motor that isnt gonna break, why would you start with a junk crank? as to rods & pistons chack out Manley.

the crank might not even be that bad .. if i can get away with useing .010 over bearings i will . i havent ripped it apart .. maybe i should have not even mentioned that part as all i wanted to know was whats a good forged rod and piston combo to use .. im not looking for 600 wheel or anything crazy .. i just want to build a motor for the experience and be able to hit it with the bottle and not be as worried as a stocker ..

If youre not wanting to go over 600rwhp and looking for a budget modmaxracing.com might have some rods for you. The ACE I-beam rods are about $150 and are claimed to be good up to 500, and the ACE h-beams are 270 and rated to 700+ with ___ bolts and 1000hp with ___ arp bolts.

Im not sure how brand specific and such you are as well and I havent heard a whole lot about them but I think theres a few kits floating around ebay by probe that come with pistons, rods, and rings for pretty cheap.

no big deal as I said I was just curious. there are alot of options out there from mild to wild, I chose to mention Manley as thats what I use & have the most faith in (price is very reasonable too IMO), the rod's (Manley H-beams) & pistons (Manley flat top's +.020) going into my 5.4 ended up right about 1100.

Do you want a forged short block already built? Or do you want to do the work or install yourself?
