fast for less


what is the best way to go fast and not have a power adder. i am in college and my mustang is my dd. i hear complete exhaust and slicks are a good way to go? anyone know anything about this?

complete bolt on?
exhaust and slicks?

costs and hp gains will help me get a idea of what i want to do. i already have pypes off road x pipe, with super 40's, and short ram intake

Nitrous, I know you say no power adder but you want the most for your money, going with just bolt ons is going to be just the opposite. 1k for a decent nitrous setup with all the accessories etc you may need vs easily blowing 1k in bolt ons and not getting near the gains.

Im not a nitrous fan but seems like it might fit for you. If you say no power adders just bc you dont want one vs the price then I can suggest other things.

gears, short throw shifter, K&N drop in filter, rear seat delete, remove spare/jack for track duty. anything you can do for free to lose weight or gain hp. these cars respond pretty well to tuning mods but then you're getting into $ for the tuner and dyno time. plus it's not worth it to tune a stock car. o/r h and cat back are good for sounds.

I suggested the tune because of the gears.
Plus IMO a tuner is a good place to start so as you add more, you can constantly update your tune. LT, OR midpipe, exhaust and you will want another tune. yada yada yada.

Well depending how much you want to dump into it now, go gears and tune first, then if you want more i say catback and intake, then do an x pipe and eventually headers. Get radials too somewhere in the mix.
