MACH 460 Heart attack!

So I have had my mustang for two weeks and all of a sudden today the mach system jammed up bad. I tried to eject the CD and all of a sudden I could only use the radio. Everything else generated an error. So I was pissed cause the thing was stuck open and i could see the cd. After reading how they crap out I figured I was SOL.

I figured maybe the system would reset itself if I unhooked the battery for a half hour or so. When I started it up, that didn;t work. Then a half hour later the CD ejected when I was driving around. I don't know if it was a fluke or I did something right.

Moral is don't freak out and jump the gun. I was already looking at a pioneer unit before I took the ride. Now I can spend the money saved on a chin spoiler

if aint messed up now, give it a little longer and it will! the 6 cd changer units are notorious for fucking up. I would change anywhere between 6-15 in a week for something else.

the only trouble iv had w/ my single disc is that it said "no disk" in player so iput one in only to find out a disc was in there and they both got stuck...i ended up taking the player apart to unjam the thing...no trouble since though...

The 6-cd changer is kind of finicky. Some times when I change CD's it says "Bad disk" even though i play it a lot and there are not scratches on it. Weird.

Mine does that fairly regularly. I usually end up using another CD or my mirror tag to press the stuck one down a little so it comes out like it's suppose to.

i have the mach 1000 and it jammed up every time i tried to eject a cd and eventually quit playing burnt cd's all together. i wish i still had the stock unit for appearance and sound reasons, but my pioneer unit works much better

good thing i have an aftermarket head unit. It's not 6 cd but it's still cool, although i prefer the look of stock.

I had the CD error bullshit before as well. I ended up taking the head unit out and taking it apart to retrieve all of my CDs. What a PAIN.

I got an aftermarket HU and used that for about 2 years. I finally found a used stock 460 unit on ebay from an excursion and it worked like a champ. It's so nice having bass again. Those adapters they sell for aftermarket units don't work for shite.

Mine crapped out on me too. I found a quick fix to it though. I ripped mine apart quite a few times. Basically what is happening is the cd trays that hold hte 6 disks are comping off of track. You can take it apart retrieve your old cds, and realign the trays. It should work again. Make sure you reconnect the ribbon wires too...

Fluffy, I dunno what your talking about With my Kenwood, I personally think it sounds better. I haver a shit ton of EQ in the Kenwood. I might have to take a vid to show it.

yea i got tired of mine getting stuck so i replaced it with an aftermarket one... the best advice i can give u is to never put more than 3-4 cd's in bc the added wait hepls get it stuck.... but if u want to fix it, you can easily take it apart and take all the cd's out...ive done it and put it back together

+1. The Mach HU's (6-Disc) are poo. Mine started acting up. Then it starting eating my CD's so I gave it the finger and bought a nice double din touch screen. Just do yourself a favor and start saving up for one cuz it'll go sooner or later.
