Instead of starting a new thread, a place around me wants $749 which includes....

4:10 Gear installed on 2000 Mustang including lube, pinion bearing, solid pinion spacer.

I am kinda thinking this is a bit much but need some opinions.

sry for adding something so late lol but thoes thicker shims are cast and if you tap them too hard with a hammer they WILL shatter. id suggest a deadblow or a piece of wood inbetween ie. no metal on metal contact. just my 2 cents

One Important step mentioned in the write-up: "Take your old pinon + shim (after you remove the bearing of course) and get a measurement from the bottom of the pinion to the top of the shim." I didn't do this and removed the shim then didn't know which shim I removed. I have to go thru the whole process of figuring out my new pinion depth! MAJOR pain!
