Tire Question

I need to get some new tires pretty soon, and I was also thinking about getting some new rims(Black Deep Dish FR500). I'm not sure what tires I should get. Any ideas? They are for everyday use and I don't do much racing.

i'm running sumitomo's and i can't say enough good things about them. i'm running the HTR+'s up front in 255 and the HTZ's in the back in 275. the HTZ's are unidirectional and i noticed they do get a little loose in the rain. no issues with the HTR+'s, though. and for the price, you can't beat em. i paid 90 for the HTZ's and i think about the same for the HTR+'s. got em from tirerack.com. if you're planning on going DD in the back you may be SOL with the sumitomo's because i don't think they make them that big.

Right now I'm running General UHP tires from tirerack.com. They're a pretty good tire for the price. If you compare it to other tires in the same price range it has the best performance.

Where do you live? Do you have to worry about snow?

I live in Fresno, CA. I 've lived here all my life and I think it kinda snowed once, but it melted when it hit the ground. I definitely don't have to worry about snow.

Well I'm not sure what price range you are looking for but tirerack.com has a pretty good selection. You can enter your car and wheel size and then the type of tire you are looking for and it will give you a list.

I'm about to get the sumitomo's as well I have heard great reviews from everybody on here. I'm going to get the 255's up front and 315's in the back. I have also heard good reviews on the Goodyear GS1-D3's. It all depends on how much money you want to spend. I have the 255/40R17 g-Force T/A KDW-2 on the front of my car and they have been great I have put like 25,000 miles on them so good treadwear. I would get them again but they don't sell this tire in a 315. I want my tires to be the same all the way around my car so i'm gonna go with the sumitomo bc they are really cheap and get great reviews. Best tire for the money I have heard.

if you want a cheap tire, the sumitomo is the way to go.
but dont expect to get much traction with them.

I don't want drag radials and I want 255 up front and 315 in the rear. I have 17x9 rims in front and 17x10.5. Tell me what you think I should get. I have no idea how much horsepower I am pushing.

Will I know that BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD or good fucking tries my best friend has a Dakota with a built 409 with a 175 shot he love them. The Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 or good I see them on some Z06’s and they like them. And the Yokohama AVS Sport or bad ass but $$$$$$$ I know a gay that put some on he’s WS6 with 550 or so hp and he say’s that they are the best. I don’t know much abut the Sumitomo HTR Z but for the $$$$ you can not go wrong. Dunlop SP Sport 8000 I don’t know much but I put some on a porch 911 not to long ago and the gay like’s them more then the Michelin PS2 but in a deferent size I plane to do the same thing I’m going with the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD but that’s me. O ya if you going with the BFG’s there is a lift and a right side so don’t get two of the same side I have seen it dun lol .

I saw someone mention HTR and HTZ's up. +1

They rock especially for the price.

Nitto - I ran 555's

They were nice. I like my Sum setup better. Especially price line.

Haha it was. That's why I am "ragging" on you (no pun intended, seriously) because you got to it first.

gotta go with the Goodyear F1-G3...same tires on the vettes. Sticky and good in rain as most ties are on dry.
