ever since i put the longtubes on the car it kind of runs like shit. when i step on the gas it will gain rpm but as its doing so it kind of stutters and cuts in and out like i'm towing a trailer down a bumpy road. i don't know what the fuck is going on. could it be the tune? also, i filled up the car and since then i've gone 63 miles and i've burned a HALF tank of gas! WTF?! i figured the longtubes would make my mpg go down slightly but this is horse shit. its probably getting 10mpg or less right now and that is unacceptable. anyone have any insight on this. oh by the way, my CEL hasn't come on since i did the headers and off road H. do you think it has something to do with my o2 sensors? i figured the light would come on by now, my rear o2's are on.. they should have tripped the cel by now unless my front ones aren't working right. i'm a little bit pissed off... the car doesn't seem like it has any more power at all and it feels like it is cutting in and out at WOT. any help would be great.

oh and another thing. i got in a little scramble with a stockish GT and he blew by me going down a 2 lane. i came up next to him and was fuckin around and i slammed it into 2nd going about 35 and i couldn't even break the rear tires loose. i used to have to pedal it in second to get traction, and now it won't even brea traction in 2nd when i dump the clutch. something is definitely wrong big time.

that is weird as shit! it sounds like a combo of the tune and the o2 sensors.

Got a batch of bad gas? Maybe the longtubes moved the o2 sensors screwing up something along the line. Can you just turn them off and see how it does?

i can't turn off the front o2's. they are extemely important as to how the car runs and also its a/f ratio... the rear ones pretty much only tell u if the cats are working properly... and since they obviously aren't, the light should come on, and it hasn't. if i turned them off it wouldn't do anything except turn off the CEL, which isn't on in the 1st place. i think something is screwy with the tune and the headers, or i have a misfire (which should trip the cel) or low compression or something.

could be, thats kind of what i'm thinking. i dunno why it would do this all of a sudden though. unless the o2's were allowing more fuel in and re-locating them threw the readings WAY off.

nah it comes on whenever i turn the ignition on and it's not running.

oh and another thing. if the car is warm sometimes it takes a couple tries to start it. first time it will try to start then die, then it will eventually start if you crank it for a bit. its really pissing me the fuck off.

could be, i haven't checked. i think the next thing i'm going to do is a compression test. after that, new coil packs. and/or new o2 sensors. i can't live with this, i have WAY too much time and money into this thing for it to be running even slightly sub-par.

i really think it's your fuel pump or a fuel related issue. my cutless used to do the same thing and it wasn't until i replaced the pump that the car ran right.

dude i really don't think its the headers, i think its the tune, low compression, or a weak coil pack. the headers shouldn't have anything to do with it. i have beat the shit out of the car (driving it hard, i take good care of it when it comes to servicing but i drive it pretty hard) plus it has 85k on it now so maybe its time for some check-ups. its irriating though, the car has been out of service for a month and now its pulling this shit on me. its like my girl is cheating on me god damnit.

nah i think its been good to me.. the only real trouble i've had was from that shitty spec clutch. other than that everything has been worked out.. its been down for so long because i broke the torque box out of it from the supercharger and i had to spend 1300 in suspension to fix it up... and then the l/ts. i missed driving it a lot, but almost everything that has gone wrong is due to the added stress of the blower.

when my friends exhaust came apart on his 98 his car ran like shit and through a code. the exhuast sounded like it was running open header..... trust me, he'd know if his exhaust was the cause
