Low Speed/RPM Whine?

I've had my stang for a while and all, love it. Decently knowledgeable but you know... I've always noticed, when I am at very low speeds... I'm talking maybe... 1-10. And the RPMS are down around 1000 to 1200 (in combo with the low speed obviously) there is this ... "Whine" it's not bad sounding, just like a hum or whine. Once you give it a little gas it shifts into the next gear and it's totally eliminated. I don't think it's bad, but I am just curious as to what it is and all, never noticied it on any other vehicle.

Any ideas?

Re

Im not sure what your tranny is...Manual? If it is it may be clutch wear. That damn throwout bearing is always the first thing to start going, my 01 GT has 105,000 on it and I get the same low-end whistle in the gears. It can also be caused if you ride the clutch. Id take it to a garage and ask them to look at the clutch assembly if the bearing is worn it can be replaced easily without replacing the rest of the clutch

No this is what I was referring to whilst still auto.

(Note, it did just undergo the conversion to manual, but... i'm not noticing it anymore)

I'd still like to know what it Is or was.
