Cool

Forming the next motor order!

Hey guys, im fixing to order the top end of the mustangs motor. Its a 5.0L stroker, using my stock block and just boring and stroking it. but i've got a couple questions on what to buy?

Im on AM... and i've found the following products at the following prices...

Patriot stage 2 heads - 1395.99
BBK shortie headers - 299.99
Accufab 70mm throttle body w/ plenum - 419.99
30# injectors - 239.99

Will the throttle body and injectors fit my needs on my gt?

Is there anything you would adjust or toss out? i've got a budget of about 2000 to 2500 bux for the top end... what would you do?

throttle body, plenum, and injectors will be fine
most will say toss the headers and go with long tubes..each to their on that one
the price for the heads sounds about right - theyre the same price at summit and direct from patriot, plus free shipping and the 6% discount at AM

thats before the 6% i can get off of them lol...

And i understand most will say that about the headers, but since i just got my off road x pipe, i figured i'd stay with shorties. Because i dont like the look of the stock exhaust manis

Sounds like youre ready to roll then. I wouldnt mind having some of those bbk shorties myself, they seem pretty nice.

but are they worth the money? power gains are very minimal with shorties. then again long tubes dont give a whole lot more but still if your gonna go with headers y not switch the midpipe as well?

for the most part they will be for looks actually, because i think the motors gonna b putting out plenty of hp for my needs... but im sure the shorties flow better then the stock ones... and im not gonna get a new mid pipe, because that would mean that i'd have a mid pipe just laying around the shop... not gonna count on someone else buying something off of me.

well i would think midpipes would be a pretty hot comodity. they are around here anyway. but its totally up to you. if your spending the money i would just go longtubes. and the shorties should flow a lil better then stock.

So do you guys think that the 30# injectors mixed with the 70 mil throttle body and plenum will be adequit for my stroker?

Awsome, would the 24's be better or worse? im just trying to get everything panned out so that i can deposit all the money tomorro morning and order it while im at work. haha

And i've decided that if my car cant hit low 12 hi 11, then i will be adding nos this summer... just because my "buddy" had a ta with a 383 stroker that hit 12.4 and he talks mad trash on my car haha.

So would i then need to upgrade injectors again?

Id just go with the 30s, theyre not much more than the 24's especially for the amount youre going to be spending anyways and will give you some room to grow. You could even pick up a good set of used 42's for the price (or slightly more) of the new 30#'s youre lookin at.

custom grind would probably get you a bit more power but shit since you already have the 270s, theyre brand new and you wont get what you paid for them you might as well stick with them.
