P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
a while ago imy car threw a P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction code....i had the sensor replaced but the code is still popping up...i heard that it could have something to do with the alteranters voltage regulater but it makes no sense to me...anyone know anything about this code????

someone else popped up a few weeks ago with the same question.. i really don't know. maybe try the dealership the problem is obviously a common one.. let us know!

A bad diode or a short in the alternator can cause all kinds of weird problems. Casper posted a TSB (06-2-9)about the late model Mustangs having problems with the same thing. Also might want to check and be sure the plug connections aren't corroded or loose or anything.
Also found a thread on the Corral where someone else was having a tough problem with the same thing. |

i took it to my mechanic and they lloked at me like i was retarded when i told them i heard the code could have went off because of a alternater....but they said they would check it out and hopefully they will have it fixed for me by tomorrow
