Vortech Installed w/Pics


I started another thread with my numbers, but that was mainly about the window issue I was having. Here is some install pics. You may wonder why I have a picture of my hand and some tools and thread sealer in there. Well, I made it about an hour into the install and I was losing things. Yeah, I lost the thread sealer. I'm waving my hands around like a mad man saying things like, "Where the hell did the thread sealer go?" Yeah, it was in my hand, so my buddy so graciously took a picture of it. The install was going smooth until we got ready to do the pump and wouldn't you know I forgot to bring the fuel line disconnect tools. Well, we took a trip to Walmart at o'dark thirty. Of course they didn't have the tools we needed, so we went redneck style and I bought a funnel, cut the tip off, cut it long ways, and wouldn't you know it actually worked. Oh, yeah and I bought the wrong size clamps for the sleeve connecting the throttle body and discharge pipe B. Luckily my buddy had some extra bands and we put two together to make one long enough. Funny as it is that worked as well. Total install time took about 9 hours. We were flying through the install. I got it dynoed at DTP by Brent yesterday and it made 366rwhp/382rwtq @ 8.6#s with 12* of timing. It would have some more in her with some exhaust and an intercooler to keep the IATs down.

Eventually. Not at the moment. I've considered buying one of those DIY kits from ebay, but after checking one out I don't know if it will work on Bullitt's.

300 shot...good Lord man! Can't go wrong with a blower. Mine drives like stock except for a bit of surging I'm getting in the lower RPMs at cruising speed. I'm trying to get a hold of Brent to see if I can just data log some parameters for him to see what might be causing it. Other than that she's strong and pulls from about 2500 RPMs on up. It feels sooo good.

All need tweaking. You just need a 4.5"-3" silicone reducer maybe a 45* reducing elbow. There's always fabbing with a diy setup.

Setup looks great.

Those DIY ebay kits have quite a lot of piping, the only issue I see is your throttle body being an odd shape.

He can use the inlet pipe he has now...Just modify the kit a bit...Same thing I am doing with the same parts...

Eventually I might try one of those, but for right now I need to get the tune dialed in a little more. I'm getting some surging/bucking in the lower RPM ranges (1700-1800 and lower) at cruising speeds.

You can do a full intercooler after the install right? If you were short on money you could go this route and eventually add the IC or is it easier to do it all at one time?
