Fuel Problem

Hello everyone I'm new to this site so I figured I would introduce myself. My name is Jesse, I live in central Jersey and I have an 01 GT with full bolt ons. My question is, I'm experiencing a fuel starvation problem. The car smells like it's running too rich at idle yet somehow everytime I mash it, it has no power. Also if I stop shortly after hitting the gas hard or I rev it hard the motor will stall out, and when I start it back up it knocks for a moment and idles rough. I know there are several things that could cause this problem. I have a CAI, TB, Plenum, Injectors, Shorties with a catted X and LM1's, and 3.73's on her currently. I'm thinking it has something to do with the injectors because its the only mod that I didn't do to the car myself, they were done when i purchased it as well as the gears. The injectors have pink connectors which I have never seen before so I'm not sure what company they are. I'm getting new plugs and wires cause I'm also having trouble with a missfire, but I don't think this will fix the problem. My main questions are, does anyone know what might be causing this? Is it too rich or too lean? Would a scan tool help locate the problem? Should I replace the injectors? New MAF? Also I have Diablosport Predator tuner, should I plug this in and mess with it and see if this can give it a better air/fuel ratio? Thanks for any help. Also just a thought, I have a nasty valve tap in the right head. Does anyone have any experience with seafoam? I have used it before but not on a car with as much mileage as my GT (95k) I have heard so many mixed responses on this topic its ridiculous. If anyone has used it on a similar car, or has a better solution to freeing that valve please let me know. Thanks again everyone (sorry for the novel lol)

the pink tops came on the mustangs stock but i think it was on the 04's and late 03's. they should be 19lb (stock) and the pink tops are 22 i believe. i would take a guess and say its not tuned correctly and is causing the issue. if you have and SES light, the your diablo is able to scan it and tell you what is going on. these cars dont have plug wires either, these cars are coil on plugs and only have a boot from the coil to the plug. there have been several people that has done the seafoam treatment these cars, run a search and you will find info on it. as far as the tap, that could be several things. eliminate the any issue you are having now so you can accurately trouble shoot the valve tap issue. how long have you had your car? do you know the previous owner?

welcome to the forums and enjoy.

I wouldnt just hook the diabloupand play around with it. you can really F things up. but I would assume its the tune as well. as for the knock does it go away when you rev the engine?

The diablo tuner doesn't have enough user option's for you to really "mess" things up. What options are there dont really let you adjust them anywhere close to dangerous levels. The diablo tuner is a relatively safe tuner to dick with, although i wouldnt mess with the A/F ratios without something to watch them.

Thanks for the help everyone. I have only had the car for about a month now and I do not know any previous owners but I know there were 4 because of the carfax. The valve tap is constantly there at idle and it gets noticable throughout the RPM band if I mash the throttle, but it seems like if I let her idle or drive smooth it goes away and is only noticable at idle again.

First. If the injectors were changed and no tune or MAF change as well...that could be problem number 1.

Also...your car could be lean or rich. If you are going off of smell and eyes watering theory, then that isn't really accurate. YOu need to put a W/B on it and check it.
