1/4 Window Vents

So I was watching Bull Run and saw that the white Shelby on there has the 1/4 window scoops and they look pretty bad ass. I know they make some for our cars, and correct me if i'm wrong, but arent most of them non-functional type scoops? Here's a link to the ones I found Mustang Scoops & Fenders by ABC Exclusive

Here's what I was thinking...I saw the 1/4 window vent thing for the 99-04 mustangs on AM Example and thought about maybe modifying the scoop to actually be functional, but what would I vent it to? I've seen people vent it to their interior, brakes, diff cooler, etc. Any suggestions on how to do this or what to vent to? Do they already make a functional scoop that would fit an '04?

What did the old shelby vents go to? Or were they non-functional?

I don't think there would be anything in the back that would really need/benefit from the scoops to cool. Maybe put some woofers up there to share your music with the public

If you vented to the interior, I bet the noise would piss you off more than any benifit of cooling. Rolling down the window would be better. They spend A LOT of time tuning the NVH (noise) of the car in the airstream so things don't whistle and vibrate at speed.

The best thing to vent would be the brakes (front first> back maybe). IF you wanted to vent the rear brakes, it would probably be better to use the panel scoops behind the door, but I don't think it's worth it.

If you like the style, do it for that reason. I don't think you have any good options for performance. Kinda like the guys that put vents in the fender of a neon.

Well thats kinda what I was thinking too, that there wasnt much potentail for the scoop to do anything worthwhile. I have a hard time putting something on my car just to improve aesthetics. I might be better off investing my money elsewhere... maybe some new springs so it doesnt look like I'm taking my car off-roading

if you did anything like that, do not get the ungly side scoops that replace the c pillar. they look hidious on our cars. but agent 47 makes a scoop that replaces the quarter window with a vent and you would run a hose to the rear brakes. Thats what the scoops were for originally. cooling the rear brakes on road race stangs

Which side scoops do you think are ugly? The ones that cover the 1/4 window? Pic or link please.

If youve ever seen the scoops on a new edge ... They look retarded, they dont line up with the rest of the mold of the car and look completely out of place, our cars are too short/wedge shaped and it makes the rear look even bigger. Keep c-pillar scoops on the flying bricks..
