Stang Stalls while braking and idleing

Hello all, new here. I did a search on this and found a possible answer, but just wanted some more input.

The problem is this, for a while now my 99 has been stalling while braking with my foot off the clutch and the engine at idle. It only used to do it while braking hard with my foot off the clutch, so I lived with it and just make sure I downshift. Then it started to do it at idle, it will start to idle irradically. the idle will drop to 500 or so then jumpt to 1500 and eventually it will stall. Lately, it has been doing it on startup.. the engine will fire perfect then just drop out. I can keep it going if I get on the gas quick, but now its becoming a PIA and I am the only one who can drive the car because no one knows how to drive it with these quirks.

the car is stock except for an offroad Xpipe I installed a while back and a set of o2 sensor simulators, and that is it.

From the search i did, I figured my first step would be to clean the idle air control valve and if that fails then i will replace it.

Do I have the problem figured out or is it something else?

Thanks,
Tom

IAC is a good guess. Go with it :wink

Its those damn simulators..

I had the exact same problem. I got the o/r x-pipe and simulators. It ran great for a while then started experiencing the same problems you are talking about. I origionally suspected my my IAC as well. However, that turned out to not be the problem. I ended up ordering a diablo tuner and turned the rear o2 sensors off. That stopped all the bullshit.

So the car has been running ok since how long ago? Because if you put the o2 sim.s in a while back it wouldnt be the problem right now.

That's what I'm saying...

It was like the computer learned a way through the simulators or something. I had them on for almost two months before they started giving me trouble.

I've been having the same problem... I have a MAC O/R and simulators. I'll try just turning the O2s off with the diablo and unhooking my sims

I ran for a while without the simulators, and of course I got the engine light. I still had the stall problem. I dont think it is the sims in my case, as the problem has gotten progressively worse over time. I will eventually source a tuner as well and just turn off the O2 sensors and other such stuff to the computer

Thanks,
Tom

ok so this is 3 of us with an O/R and sims with the same problem.... So its gotta be something there... Do I need to undo my sims before and use the tuner? Or can I just leave them on there since they are a pain in the ass..?
