Cold weather problem?

OK, I bought my Mustang in mid November and the weather has been very mild here in the Northeast up until recently. Yesterday I took the 'Stang to work and it was about 14 degrees when I left. The problem was, when I first started out I felt a thumping sensation coming from the front of the vehicle, it felt like a flat tire and I even got out to check them because it was so bad, none of 'em were flat so I continued on. After about 1 minute of driving it went away, but the same thing happened today as well. Anybody have any idea what this is or what's causing it? It has never happened before and I think it might have something to do with the cold temperatures, but I have no idea what it is.

Your car's tires are sitting flat contact patch that is freezing when it gets that cold, I'd guess. You've never experienced this before in other cars when it gets that cold?

I've also noticed a problem with my car in cold weather (01 GT). Below 60F it will try to cut out over about 2500 RPM, and anywhere in fifth gear. My neighbor said he had a Cobra at one point with a 4.6 and said it did the same thing.

Just a thought, what weight oil do you use? If its not deffinately comming from the engine, i would probably side with Timbers idea.

Timber you are right, I went to my local tire guy and he explained the same thing you did. I have never had this problem on any other cars before, even my '99 Camaro SS. He said it is very common with low profile tires when it gets extremely cold outside. Whew! I was worried there for a bit!
