I got the engine for 1,200 with 1,500 miles on it.With cams and KB it will put down over 600. How is that wasting money? Like I said, have fun, good luck

Dont agree with the "too much work" in comparison to the 5.4 but go for it man, sounds awsome

i alrdy told you pull it from an 00-01 expedition or f150. all you need is an HPS intake manifold, your stock exhaust (or frp shortys), and lengthen some wires. thats it.....theres nothing else.

why from the 00-01 expedition/f-150? what is the complete range of "compatible" motors? it cant just be 00-01.

it is not just 00-01 that is compatible but you get the best of everything for those years. you see before 00 i believe they didnt use pi heads so they didnt have as much horsepower. after 01 they used NVH which add like 20-40 lbs to the engine. so if you get 00-01 you get pi heads and lose about 40 lbs.

if you would have read his post he clearly states why to target those years.

i believe the range of compatible motors are 96?-03(or 04) dont remember when they switched to 3valve. you want to avoid 3 valve, at least for now seeing as there is not an intake manifold for the 5.4. you either have to choose 5.4 2v or 5.4 4v basically

Hey, i got my motor from a low mile 04 Expedition but you could get one out of anything 00-04 van, truck, suv etc... there all going to be pretty much the same.
But The cheapest easy way to make power was to buy a lightning supercharger setup.so with that said.
If you dont mind cuttin a hole in your hood and can find a lighting to get the complete motor wireing ecu etc..I would do it.

Dude I'm not going to let you off that easy. Knock off the whole, "oh its tiny little engine thats not making any power" crap. You go ahead and biuld that 5.4l and get your ass handed to you by a 4.6. Just because the 4.6 is a wopping 52 cubic inches smaller doesnt make it a crappy little motor.

for those with fewer functioning brain cells than most people: "lol" has the potential to imply SARCASM. note: i bought a 4.6L, didnt I? but thanks for that math anyways.

wow! i didnt realize how tall that really is. jesus! im not willing to do that at all. looks badass, bt i gotta be able to drive this thing around. the local cops already arent fans of me and something like that would not help. im shhoting for as close to a stock look as possible without sacraficing power. basically id like for my mechanic to think its a 4.6 when he gets under the hood for my inspection.

I'm sorry I'm so dumb. uuuuuusa, uuuuusa, where did you say that you bought a 4.6l, I missed that post. At anyrate, I wasnt trying to imply sarcasm, I was simply annoyed with the attitude chief. And your very welcome for the math even though it was wrong. 50
