you should yes. If you are going to go closed circuit racing and do it right, get another set of rims, dont have to be fancy, and put your choice of tires on them. That way you arnt burning your DD's

The very VERY first thing you should do under any circumstances is get Subframe connectors. Your mustang does not have a 1 piece frame underneath it. It has 2 partial ladder frames that are bolted and welded to your passenger cabin. Its both weak and unpredictable. You should get sub frame connectors (2-300 installed) to fix this. They are basically a set of steel bars that they weld between the front and rear ladder frames of your car. This will make a night and day difference, that will easily make every suspension mod you do from there out, twice as worth it.
Second, I would do sway bars. Sway bars make up from soft shocks and springs and will level the car out, plus add in some greately needed over steer. Your stock car will only over steer at about 20 mph when you floor it in first. otherwise, the car is just going to plow to the outside of the corner. third would be springs and shocks. These kind of go together, they don't have to, but they go together in the end, so putting them on together will make a big difference. If you got a little time, read through my posts on the Official Suspension Guide in my sig. look for my posts with Big bold titles and pictures. That should give you a pretty good idea. For the bump steer. I will draw you a picture to make it a little more clear.

Here is the drawing. The first is the stock set up. The second is the lowered angles. As you can see the A arms and end-links are already at an angle. if you go over a bump, you will force them even more verticle, this will max out their range, and the car's front tires will toe inwards. Meaning, they will both turn in twords the car, if you happen to be turning at this time, you will lose the ability to turn atleast one of the tires.
The final picture is a lowered car with the bumpsteer kit. The kit as you can see is blue, and corrects the angle, putting the end links, back in parallel with the road, giving you desireable handling again. This doesn't seem to come in to play until you have a 1.5-2" inch drop. And at the 1.5" it, is only noticeable in pretty extreme suspension travel. Something you would be close to bottoming out on anyway. Hope this helps out.
