Heater hose popping off???

I've been having this issue since I put my engine back in the car (03 Explorer longblock, HiTech cams, longtubes, stock intake). Occasionally when I'm racing, if I powershift the car I blow a heater hose loose. What would be the cause of this? I have done a head cooling mod at the back of the driver side head, could this be part of it? Also, the heater core hose that is farthest to the passenger side, the stock one had a piece of pipe or restrictor there inside the hose, but when I put the car back together I used different hose without the restrictor. Could this be the cause?

get an oem heater hose, if that doesn't help, rethink your coolant mod.

the hoses are locking. the plastic piece is what locks it into place. i bet you that is where the issue is.

the hose ends are larger and made of plastic. there are inserts in there as well that lock the hoses onto the fittings of heater core and motor.

Well then how should I connect the cooling mod hose to the heater hoses?

That's how I've got it connected. I'll try and take a picture of it today after work and see if maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Also coolant related, my coolant light keeps coming on intermittently. Sometimes it won't come on at all, sometimes after a few minutes of driving, other times it'll be on as soon as I start the car. The resovoir is full of coolant, but the little float inside just sits at the bottom. Is it a bad sensor or could it be something else?
