am i the only one who sees a problem with this?
my friend has a full bolt on mustang with cams (lt headers, midpipe, mac catback, anderson powerpipe, ported typhoon intake manifold, pp plenum and 75 mm throttle body, 410 gears, and an anderson ford motorsport n22 cam)
he took the car to a dyno, a dynojet, and only made 281 after they tuned it, then when he took it out to race on the street, he lost to a stock camaro by a fender. shouldnt he be making more?

the car was surging too, it was wierd. it didnt feel much faster than my car, i mean i know my fat ass doesnt help being in the passenger seat, but damn. i made 245 at the wheels before i did my throttle body and plenum. that was only with a catback, midpipe, intake, 373s and a tune with an sct chip. your gonna tell me long tubes, pulleys, intake manifold and cams only make about 30 rwhp?

totally agree with the intake manifold, but you wont gain that much from the cams if you dont have the long tubes. plus he did the longtube install himself.

dyno #'s dont mean anything other than a general tuning tool & you cant tell anything on the street either. take it to the track & if he can make a clean pass then see what those #'s tell you.

cams & l/t's not worth a whole lot more than 30.for example, a guy at our track did hightech stg. 2 cams over the winter & picked up 2-ish tenths.

gotta go big or go home if you want big h/p n/a. a good combo + very high compression & lots of rev's. minor bolt on's wouln't cut it, but if your into it there's proven combo's out there.

ya all motor is cool....but usually comes with big displacement like I said USUALLY but FI is just a different route. like how some people say they "don't believe in Turbo, Supercharger, No2" get under my nerves.. it's just a different route to take.

totally agree with you. while all motor is cool, it sucks on our cars lol. for the amount of work we have to do just to keep up with an ls1 it is rediculous. then if they do all the n/a work they get fuckin 400 rwhp!! fuck!! lol

all sort's of way's to make power. just comes down to the end use for the car as some use's don't support some combo's very well (ie. bracket racing & nitrous). bottom line. build what you can afford & are into.

man you can't look at it like that. they have displacement over us and hp/torque. GT wise. It just helps our engines breathe better going FI. as well if any engine but to me is seems like the OHC does well with the normal 10psi. LS engine don't impress me. give me that hp and torque and we will est them with the better gears and low end torque

true. im getting sick of people talking shit about my motor lol. i gotta make thing right. funny thing about every camaro or trans am i see is the fact that something is always wrong with it lol. bent pushrods, shitty window motors......etc.
