Aftermarket Shifter height

Which is shorter the mgw adjustable handle or the pro 5.0 handle?

Both of these will shorten the throw, however if just used to replace the OEM lever they do nothing to eliminate the stock shifter's vagaries and overall monkey-motion characteristics...

The problem with all aftermarket levers/handles, bolted up to the stock shifter, is that they are like putting lipstick on a pig (with all due acknowledgments to Governor Palin)

You may end up with a somewhat prettier pig, but it's still a pig--IMHO forget about a new lever and get an MGW shifter, you will not look back...

I have this one. you can make it extremely short. and then you can make it really long too. very adjustable too.

But one of the reason you can make it so short is because on the shifter there are 3 different holes you can mount the handle onto. and then you can adjust the Handle length as well. But i have a UPR shifter base so i dont know if the mgw and Pro 5.0 are adjustable on the shifter like mine.

All aftermarket shifters (shifters, NOT handles) I've seen, except the MGW, use the OEM style 2-bolt mounting for the lever.

The MGW shifter is a complete redesign of the OEM unit and uses a different scheme for mounting the handle.

The handle clamps on to the operating lever:

I understand that, a few posts before mine a fellow stated he had the UPR base (shifter), and said he was unsure as to whether the other shifters could accomodate MGW's handle.

My point was that the other aftermarket shifters can work with MGW's generic shift handle--however the MGW shifter can not...
