intake manifolds............

hey guys, my name is eric, im new to the forum here and new into mustangs. i own a 2000 gt. i have upgraded the car with after market black center torque thrust style wheels. 17x11 out back with a set of 315/35/17 and a set of 17x9 up front with 275/45/17. added the drilled and sloted rotors, cat back flow masters with x pipe, and an aem brute force cold air ram. oh yeah, and i did the 4.10 gear conversion (by far the best upgrade so far).

anyway, the point of my post. i just got thru with my intake exploding the bottom out of the coolant passage. thanks to this site i was able to find the recall on that problem and get it fixed. but, i also learned that there is a 7 year cut off on the recall. so, if any of you guys running a 2000 with the 4.6 havent had this done, id get after it fast. it cost me absolutly nothing to get the new improoved intake put on, and the car was only down about 2.5 days in the process. your dealer will have a list of part numbers, if your intake part number matches, and your build date is under the 7 year mark, its a free up grade. im not exactly sure whats up, but my ride runs better then she has since i bought it. maybe the new intake is improoved in more then one way?? who knows. i was just real glad this happened when it did. had it waited another 2 months to break, id have been out big bucks on my own. even if yours hasnt broken, trust me, it will, so go get it checked out. this site rocks, see you guys around. if i can find the piece of paper the dealer gave me, ill post all the applicable part numbers here for you guys. better to go in knowing your covered, they hate someone who knows as much as they do. LOLOL

Thanks for the input. My car is in the shop right now getting new head gaskets (leaking), & the dealership was honest enough to tell me they would replace the intake manifold for free becuase of the recall. Unfortunatley my car has been there for a week and counting.
