cobra brakes vs Baer brakes

hey everyone as the title states this is my big decsion right now which kit is best bang for buck. The cobra kit for those that dont know 13" blank brembo rotor, 2 piston caliper stainless lines and what not. Price for that for me up in canada is between 750-850ish got to call the parts store and ask, if i remember right its roughly that. The baer kit 13" cross drilled/slotted zinc washed rotor 2 piston caliper, stainless lines and what not. Price is $1000 shipped to my door. I will be installing these parts so no labour charges. I dont have a problem spending the extra 100 bucks if the baer kit is a better choice. here is a link to the baer kit, it is the track one.Baer Brake Systems | Performance you can See!

thanks for the help in advance

Those Baer calipers are the same as the Cobra calipers. PBR makes the Cobra calipers & the Baer ones. The rotors are just different.

The Cobra kit is a little less expensive here.

Thanks for the quick replies, I'm at work so I will try to answer questions if any the quickest I can. As for the web sites everyone provided me it doesn't make sense for me becasue once I convert to cdn funds and they ship it works out to about the same prices I mentioned. So lefty the calipers are the same, is it still worth it for the rotors or no. Like worth the extra 100 bucks or so?

I just installed the Cobra front brake kit on my 99 GT and I couldn't be happier with the results. The big rotors and calipers have tons of grab and the SS brake lines provide great linear braking. I was a little skeptical about the rotors myself, but they are Brembo and of good quality. If it were me I'd save the hundred or so bucks and invest it elsewhere in the car.

Ge the Cobras with HP+ pads. you will be very happy.

I bought the Y2k Cobra brake kit for $1300. It comes with the zinc coated rotors... Not worth the extra money imo.

I run my car on the track and the Cobra PBR brakes are just about as good, unless your a professional driver.

As for the rears, go with the 13 inch Bear kit.
To install the Cobra kit, you need to pull out the axles and replace the caliper bracket... WAY more of a PITA. Bears just bolt on the extension, then bolt on the caliper.

Get the Cobra calipers and as for the rotors well it's up to you...the stockers (brembo's) from the Cobra upgrade kit are just fine. On my Cobra I have Cobra calipers (obviously) w/ Brembo gold, slotted rotors. Love them to death.

The rotors really get to be a big part when you're racing (road/track racing). But for an everyday DD if you don't want to cough up the money for nice rotors (drilled and/or slotted) then the stock Brembo's that come on Cobra's are just fine.

Well, just as a piece of information. if you get any slotted or drilled baer calipers. they are cutt or drilled after they are formed. This ruins the metal of the rotor and makes them weaker than if they were un touched. Whether the benefits of the slotting or drilling more than they are weakened is really up to you to decide.

brembo are the only brakes that have the slots forged in. this makes them MUCH stronger and will last much longer. I recommend Brembo over everyone else. If you were talking abou the next step up. The 4 and 6 piston caliper options, the answer might be different. But for the cobra kits. They Cobra brakes are the best bang for your buck bar none.

its so stupid how much they cost. unfortunatly for me up in canada the aftermarket world is very small. we basically have 2 big companys and thats it. and the prices between the 2 arent much difference. its a joke
