Red Brake Calibers

Hey you guys, I noticed on some of the brake upgrade kits, they come with brake calibers that are painted red. It looks hot too when you have the FR500 wheels (aka the ones I got but arent on yet due to cold weather, didn't want all the elements hurting them).

Well... I have a brake upgrade kit installed, but... it didn't come with red calibers.

Is there some paint which will adhered particularly good for a reasonable price so I can just paint them myself? No way in hell I am upgrading to new calibers just for the red.

But it looks hot.

Really? I didn't think it'd be that easy. Is it the same paint you can use in the engine bay?

Also, will it look just as sharp as the pre-painted? Or is it gonna look crappy and cheap.

yeah you just need a ceramic high temp paint. they make kits that come with brake claiper cleaner which evaporated instantly then you can just paint it right on with a small brush. i didnt even take mine off when i painted them. only the visible part and they came out great

The callipers you find in a kit are usually powdercoated. A brake calliper paint kit will give you a good look but it wont look exactly like the powdercoated ones. Just make sure you take your time and put a few coats on and they should look pretty good.

I pulled the calipers off, used brake and parts cleaner and got all the oil off, then spray painted them with hi-temp paint... they looked really good, especialy after a few coats were on there

Haha. All awesome replies.

Thanks everyone, I found a kit at autozone.

18.99.

I'm going to paint them as soon as I find the time, maybe next week when I am off, if it's not too cold for me haha.
