accufab vs. everyone else

ok guys.. i really wanna buy a tb and plenum for my car.. so far I haven't cut any corners and i have bought top of the line stuff for my car. i know im gonna get a jlt rai. im now stuck between an accufab 75mm tb and plenum vs a professional products setup. I had a pp on my last car and it seemed to be fine. and i got in my old car the other day and the throttle response is WAY better than stock for sure... but.. if accufab will really be so much better than the others that it is worth the extra money i will buy it. can anyone give me some input that has had more than 1 style of tb and plenum please?

buy the best stuff and you going to get a jlt??? accufab makes the best plenums but they arent all that much damn better especially for the price. dont get me wrong, accufab makes great stuff and look great as well. the t/b will work the same no matter what brand you get. it wont even matter because 90% of the people that buy the 75mm wont ever actually utilize it.

ive had experience with accufab vs. BBK. no comparison. product is better designed. had the BBK (which came with the car) stick numerous times.

+1, I am thinking about swapping my JLT out for a C&L. The design can be better and the way they want you to install it can be better.

From what I have heard and read the jlt is the best one. What would you guys suggest? And I'm getting mixed opinions on the TB. Lol. My pp never stuck. And I feel like Sweet2k, the hole is the same size so it will flow more air. What yall think?

Jlt does produce good power... but the problems that ive come across, the damn plastic mounting piece always breaking, i think that the price could be a little bit better. Ive been on other sites where people have had problems with them as well.

as far as TB's, i havent heard nothing bad about PP and Sweet is correct in saying that they are both pretty much going to flow the same. I think the real difference between the 2 is quality and or craftmanship

only thing about PP is that you have to drill out the throttle cable hole just a tad, but 200 dollars cheaper for a 30 sec fix. I went with the 75 mm combo just incase i got cams and definitely noticed big throttle response increase.

plenum, good idea. t/b, ported stocker usually sufficient for most. a 70mm is a good mod. cai, you can generally pick up a good used one cheap. cams and tune will do the most. the induction weak spot is the plenum, that is one item that should be had.

You're one of the lucky few that purchased a defective BBK product. By defective, I mean that in BBK's standards, one usually needs to modify their product in order to get it to work right.

Congratulations. : D

A TB and plenum on a mostly stock car is a waste of money. May 5hp if you get lucky. Cams and a tune will do way more, but that is probably 5x the price.

Its 5 times more without any labor factored in, and then youd really need the heads worked to make the cams worth it - At that point your better off just doing a blower. But if that the argument you want to make, then basically all bolt ons, excluding gears, are a waste of time on 2v mod motor LOL.

Thats my stance (except for LTs). My first "bolt on" was a blower. If you want to make your car fast, boost or nitrous is the only semi cheap way. If you are going to do cams, might as well build the motor and do the heads as well to save on labor. Sure an intake, tune, and gears will make your car a bit faster, but its not big gains by any means. I'd do suspension stuff before engine "bolt ons".

If it was sticking just as you pressed down on the throttle from idle, did you try adjusting the butterfly valve stop so that it didn't vacuum lock? After I adjusted mine it ran great.

Sadly, youre right - 2vs dont respond to much of anything other than boost.
