I wish I had gone Teksid with my rebuild; mostly for the 80lbs off the nose of the car.

i should of got pics of inside the pan as well, there were a couple pieces in there with the wrist pin and windagel ouvers were beat to hell as well. the debris from the #5 cylinder spread thru the motor and the head on was beat up bad on the #1 too. there are several cylinders that beat up the head, #1 was the worst. i am going to take the stuff to the machinist when i get a day off and see if i can save the heads.

didnt really make any noise, i was in in the middle of a race when it broke. i didnt notice anything out of the ordinary really except that the car shut down.

Hey sweet, Just curiousyou mention the massive abuse you car took for a long time was this just track abuse or alot of the time. you daily drove it alot right?
I plan on keeping my car simple bolt ons and such its my only driver but I would love to be able to spray it when I wanted to play or make point somewhere
it seems your set up was pretty basic before you started pushing the limits I would like to try a similar set up but it has to be able to endure daily use. kids to school , soccer, fottball etc

it was a DD. it saw 6k daily, hundreds of pounds of nitrous, went to the track, went to the grocery store, hauled my son and my niece in it without 1 single worry, road trips, got 19/27mpg (machboy got 29 when he borrowed it), and it took it all. if i didnt have the attitude i have with fords, this car would still be running and but just fine.

thanks good to know .I only have an 1/8 mile track near me and probably will rarely race
but i just want to make it run hard when I want to did you just use 1 tune or switch tunes for the abusive days
dont you have some posts on silvermustangs from a ways back? i remember that 1 eyed pic in your sig

silvermustangs a forum? if so, no. i would either run the nitrous tune or the n/a tune, i had changed the tune with my diablo. i just tweaked end user adjustments on it to do what i wanted it to as far as i could do it. the set up i will be going with will brobably be a sct 4 bank eliminator now. i never had any luck with fords, but this one has taken some torture and abuse that i thought it would never stand. these motors are a lot stronger than people give them credit for.
