Turbo info plz

ive been playing around with the idea of adding a power adder on the car as some people have read or responded to in some of my threads, but now the questions about a turbo has come up. If i went with a turbo kit and kept the boost low..(just enough to make 380-400hp), would that be easier on an engine with 94k miles on it than say a supercharger? Im making 300rwhp now so im thinking with like 5lbs of boost and can it my marks. lemme know ya'lls opinion on it and if you think there is a better safer route to go..thanks!

it prolly wouldnt be easier on the engine cuz its still putting added strain on the internals of the engine....either way it will eventually give.....im not too keen on turbos myself but if ur only looking to keep it at 380 hp u might as well go with a vortech or somethin cheap like that.....keep in mind ur prolly gonna have to replace the k member if u do a turbo which is like an extra grand or so

i would say that turbo might be a little more harsh on the engine, just because you will make more torque with turbo than a centri kit, also you make more horsepower with the same amount of boost. i think either way you go the engine should hold up just fine if you are keeping it under 400

i have been toying with the idea of trying out that on3performance turbo kit, would be somewhere around 3500 after everything is all said and done, in my opinion i think i would rather have everything just in one package, you can buy an s trim kit for like 2800 bucks now brand new. then i would add methanol, more octane, and better cooling.

you can get a full k-member kit with control arms for around $700 out of summit. and you can buy just a k-member for $250.

this is true. I personally would do it all myself, not just to say "I did it" but if something went wrong and someone else installed it I would be pissed. so i do all my own installs.

The turbo would be easier on the engine seeing it isn't robbing power to spin it. You will make 400+- with 8psi using the turbo(s).

WRONG! Turbos are more efficient. Less stress on motor since it doesnt rob power to produce power. It reuses wasted energy.

i had a twin remote mount set up on my car, it worked pretty good, not as laggy as you would think, but i had ground clearence issues, and i work on a military installation with about a million speed bumps, so i moved the up under the front bumper

On another forum I've seen a lot of stangs with superchargers with a lot of miles running just do the regular maintenance and don't put cheap oil, sparks etc.... also If you're gonna be stepping on the gas too much then It wont last... Just keep it under 450hp......
