This is so wrong it's not even funny. Seriously... 4-9 degrees of camber gain with a McPherson strut? Not even.

The PROBLEM with a mcpherson strut design is it's LACK of camber gain upon compression. In fact, under compression, a mcpherson strut car gains positive camber!

Ideally you want ZERO camber relative to the ground, as this gives you the largest contact patch. Because of the aforementioned lack of camber gain under compression, you have to dial in static negative camber so that the tire is FLAT when car rolls to the outside during cornering. As the body rolls you effectively lose camber relative to the road, so the static negative camber allows you to "roll into" a 0 camber situation under hard cornering. You compromise your traction while going straight to increase your traction while cornering.

The reason that positive caster is so necessary in these cars is that it "artificially" creates negative camber under compression. It's also a compromise though, as it slows steering response.

So they do or don't allow for more travel and sway to a more positive camber?

Haha, thanks

Smoked headlights may be in the future. For pretty much everything else, I'm done with the exterior of the car. Going to start saving into getting a forged block. The Nitto 555's are pretty damn nice. I can't break traction in even first gear unless I drive over water, or unless I come at it sideways. If you're looking into something else, a couple of my favs are the gt4 wheels(gt40 replicas), and the DD Cobras

yah i like the gt4's too but as much as i would love some 18's i think i want 17's mainly for the cost of tires and i can get a 315 on the back. Also i dont like how the gt4s stick out in the front just looks dumb to me.

Can you fuckin' read? Go look at the first page; I covered this in depth. And thanks.

It wasn't too hard for me to pick my wheels. I needed black with a polished lip(don't think there's enough chrome on the car to warrant chrome wheels). And I loved cobras, and deep dish.

Just make sure, whatever you decide to go with, you really really like, because its not like exhaust where you can swap it out for cheap

Yeh, a few times. Its easy to burn out if you really want to. As far as dumping the clutch when the tires aren't warmed up: With my car I can dump it at about 3k~ish and take off pretty quick with some spinning still. If you walk it to like 1k rpm though, you won't lose a bit of traction, and a fat chirp into 2nd. LOTS o' traction for a bolt on gt.
