update on the stang.. its getting surgery

upon further investigation, there was oil in the coolant along with a smashed plug, low compression, and misfire on cylinder 3. i pulled the valve cover and noticed a few chunks of metal in the valley at the bottom of the head. drained the oil and it looked good.. so i dunno exactly what the broke yet. probably blew a head gasket and a ringland. the leakdown tester i borrowed didn't work, it wouldn't thread into the head.

i have a buyer for my bike for $4500 and he's gonna get back to me this week as soon as he gets his loan approved. Soooo....

i'll be ordering an MMR 900 shortblock.. $2700
cushman motorsports has a package deal on the new trickflow heads with any cam of theirs assmebled for $2500. i'm probably gonna go with their 2.5 blower cams or stage 3 blower cams. the stage 3's have .545/.545 lift, 238/242 .050 duration, 115 LSA. the 2.5's have .536/.540 lift, 228/235 .050 duration, 114 LSA. i'm still trying to decide what cam to go with.

i'll probably go ahead and throw a tubular k member in and remove the AC while i'm at it. the car is gonna become a weekend cruiser and race car and will be making some serious power. i'll keep the P1SC on there with a smaller pulley and i'm confident that it will make over 500rwhp with my fuel system but if not i'll be going to a return style system with bigger injectors.

so thats the plan, i have some saving to do and some things to liquidate so i can get get this thing back on the road in the next couple months.

any further input?

I'm glad your going to stay with the p1sc and the tfs heads. I'm curious if they will allow the p1sc to easily break 500 on a 4.6 sohc.

Did you get the upgraded apr rod and main bolts with the MMR 900? At the time I went with the upgraded bolts, notched pistons, and their oil pump.

Sucks dude, but congrats on the project of a new motor. I'm sure you'll be very pleased with the MMR900 setup.

i haven't ordered the shorblock yet, i have to wait till my bike sells. i'll probably go ahead and upgrade while i'm at it though. an interesting tidbit though, i read on Prochargers site and also a mod motor book and they both said the p1sc is capable of 825 horsepower. which is rated higher than the s trim and t trim from vortech, i'm not sure whether or not procharger overrates theirs or if vortech underrates theirs but i thought it was interesting. 500 shouldn't be a problem at all, i think it can even do better than that but we will definitely find out.

procharger over rates. there's no way you're getting more than 15-16 lbs of boost out of that thing without overspinning it and blowing out seals and the like.

well bob show me some p1sc breaking 500rwhp on a 2v 4.6? Go to Modular PowerHouse and look at the tuning results for 500+ and see how many you find there.

Then look at how many S and T-trims that have.

The t-trim is rated by vortech to 825.

yeah thats exactly what i'm saying, i've never seen a p1sc put out as much as procharger advertises. i'm very impressed of what your s trim and t trim did. if i have to upgrade i'll probably say fuck it and throw and f1a on there

damn dude that sounds like a sweet setup....I heard some stage 3 comps on a buddys car and man iy sounded sick! A dss short block, comp stage 3 heads and cams, with a kb,tuned by james at rwtd mad 440 somthing on like an 8lb pulley.....I don't think 500 woul be too far out of reach with some more boost on any s/c setup....good luck with it man
