Saftey of Drag Radials on stock rear end

well im pretty much getting a deal on some wheels and drag radials cheap and before i buy them my friend is letting me take them for a test run at the track friday. My question is am i very likely of breaking things? Or would it take extensive hard launches like at 5k rpms or something like that

you should be ok on the stock rear end for a little while but i would recommend bulking up the rear end or getting a new one b4 doing it on a regular basis

You shouldn't have to worry too much about the rear end unless you are pushing some serious power, and plan on launching at 5k rpm's like you said. Take it easy on the launch and give it hell after you get going.

You should be okay with stock axles and drag radials with a stock to bolt-on GT. If you go FI or launch on the bottle, you are running a risk of axle failure.

i've done a 4500 launch on slicks with 450 at the rear wheels and it was fine.

Ya i wasn't planning on doing any kid of 5k launches i figured id stick to what i've been doing sense i was spinning on street tires i would hopefully hook better. I dont think i'll do anything higher than 3500 to be on the safe side, guess i'll just have to toy with it and not be crazy.

you should be fine, i went to the track and launched on the limiter with my blower and drag radials over 200 passes and didn't break anything.

So i guess i'll just launch the crap out of it. Ran 9.26 in the 1/8 on bald street tires, magnoflow catback, and CAI. Looking to dip into 8's with my new x-pipe and radials.
