looks to me like a detonation, my car did the same thing about 6 months before i tore the motor down. didnt realize that it had happen. Did u by any chance have to replace a spark plug here any time recently? because when mine broke loose, it threw that chunk of piston into the spark plug and crushed the tip causin the motor to misfire and die.

i replaced the plug and drove her for almost 6 months and nothing bad happen haha. but i would say it was a detonation?

What did the plugs look like? I would suspect detonation, or meth injection.

That sounds abt right the piston rings were all messed up. Now I have to buy some new pistons. If I remember, Is that the silver cobra that got messed up on the dyno? Now it happened to me.

hey man, I have some CP pistons up for sale and the piston rings, forged and 17cc, puts your compression ratio right around 8.67:1 if you are interested.

dude, she went lean or detonated and melted the piston, the edges are the thinnest so they usually go first.. seen it a hundred times.. and thats not were the valves would hit if they would have hit..

It is also funny that 8.5:1 to 8.67:1 is what it is listed, 18cc pistons on a 5.0L stroker will be 9 falt.
Maybe that is what you meant?

This has been coming up more and more. Some cylinders are fine, and some are ruined by detonation. This is caused by a non-homogeneous distribution of the meth/ water. (not getting the same mixture to all cylinders). This is by far the best argument to run an IC instead of meth.

I have a MMR 900 and with stock 2v heads the 18cc is around 9 flat. On a 4.6 4v it's around 8.5:1

That makes good sense it coulve been that. If coolant goes to the spark plugs does it go to the cylinders? I remember 1 day I broke a hose and coolant was flying everywhere.
