putting in mmr long block
Hey guys I finally saved up enough money to buy a mmr long block and I figured if I am going to buy a block I am going all the way with it and of course I did not hold back.
Here is what i bought: mmr long block, stage 2 heads, blower cams, mmr clutch kit,and I have a paxton novi 2000 that is existing. So my question is this should I go ahead and buy the mmr pro 750 tranny and install 31 spline axles or should I wait till it breaks. Also what type of horsepower do you think I will be putting down to the wheels?

Boost gets you laid

that will be a BAMF setup man... you'll need a tranny and rearend eventually but i would go easy on it and save a little longer. it would be cheaper to send in your transmission before it breaks.. and the rearend.. that can be done fairly cheap.

I think those are modified TKOs. I've heard too many problems with those trans. I'm getting a PMP myself in about a month.

I put down 665 with 20 psi and dyno about 30 hp less where I tune compared to other dynos I have been on it a very very old dynojet.
The Novi is a good bit bigger than my T-trim so 650 should be in the cards at 19+. I also suggest an overdrive crank pulley so you don't have to run such a small SC also an 8 rib pulley setup wouldn't hurt. Maybe port your bullitt intake while you're at it. I run my TFS unported and it performs well. What's your fuel setup etc? Of course you'll need the support mods for the hp. Also I like to see what a car traps in the 1/4 to see if the dyno numbers are accurate. I know of a 2.6h KB GT that dynoed 650+ at Modularpowerhouse and then was running less than 120 traps. Something wasn't adding up. I have had a mmr shortblock for over 3 years and have been very happy with it. Edit: I just seen were you went with a MOD 800 long block. 680rwhp is the limit of where it's rated. With your set up @ 20 psi you'll be close to it's limit already. Might want to considered going to the 900 or more. 765rwhp is the limit of the MMR MOD900 even though I've seen people go past that.

were you launching hard, did you have drag radials, have you changed out your axles or transmission,I think you said you had a tko 500. The reason why I'm asking is that is a good time for a street car. I was also told i have to be careful because my tranny and axles are stock and I am running a 285 35 18 drag radial on the track. What is your opinion. Thanks!!!

I was launching pretty hard. I just lose so much time and boost during my old man granny shifts . I was averaging high enough traps to be well in the tens I just needed the driver mod I think. The 11.1 was on my 17" dd 10.5" cobra r's with 315/35/17 MT DR's I have a built 31 spline rear using a explorer diff and USA alloy axles. I run a stock TR3650 with a 10.5" XTD stage 3 clutch ($185 lol) and a stock 8bolt flywheel from a 2000 gt. I had one laying around with only about 200 miles on it so I used it without turning it. I paid 300 for the transmission about 5-6 years ago. It was right after I bought the short block and I as running out of money. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before it goes. I ran a set of 15x8 summits stars with a 26x10.5x15' Dot MT street slicks a few time but I didn't do any better in my 60's, but they were more consistent.

ok 1 question.... you have got the motor now you will not make the power if you do not have the fuel? so what do you have for fuel? and please done say 42s and a focus pump lmao.....and at 20 pounds you should be pretty damn close to around 660ish may be more just depends on if you guy can tune or etc... and you will need an 8 rib set up for that amount of boost or you will make no power with you belt slipping so much...

they are the only ones i will let touch my car and mmr of course speaks very highly of mike and said he has never had a motor go bad from a tuning issue from murrillo. murillo will be installing the motor and retuning,I don't have the room to drop a motor and not to mention my home association will have a shit fit.when i installed the blower and injectors i had a hell of a time getting the car to murillo's shop and of course all the good shops are never close to your house so i figured i would save myself the agony and pain and let him do it.
