Used Vortech?

Thinking about going to look at a Vortech S-trim today. Says it has everything except the pipes and fuel components, but comes with fmu. Apparently they sold the aftercooler separately. What should I look for besides the obvious bearing play? Its 700 bucks, and he says it has approx. 20,000 miles. Sound worth looking at?

Find out what year the kit is for, 99s had a different timing cover and changes the bracket slightly. I was able to make the bracket for my novi work with just some washers.

About to head to work, and stop and look at it. I will ask him what year the car was it came off of because I do see that there is a different kit for 99 like said. I'll take some pics of the impeller and everything to see what you guys think.

My Novi kit is for a 99 and I needed to put a washer between the spacer and timing cover for each spacer on the blower bracket. Its not that hard but your pulleys wont line up with out it.

Well his is vortech, but it is reasonable to think you need to do the same for both. The Novi 2k is a nice SC though and I would already be close to 750 if I had one. It was just a lot cheaper to upgrade the S to a T-trim.

But maybe formed differently. The brackets are pretty cheap. I would rather change the timing cover because 99's use a much better 3 bolt belt tensioner.

Oh well, it sounded too good to be true then. I think I will just stick with new. At least then I will have a warranty. Thanks.
