o2 sensor help needed asap

hey guys long story short when i got my long tubes installed i didnt bring the o2 extenders so they just put some shitty o2 in there. well my tuner told me they need to be changed. so i went out and bought the bbk part number 1676 extenders. so my first question is for the extenders they say 86-04 but my stock sensors and the extenders dont match up? did i miss something or am i suppose to break the clips of the stock ones so they fit? and my second questions is are the stock 02's suppose to go to a specific side or does it matter because currently i have blue on the driver side and purple on the passenger side. reps to whoever can respond soon, as im in the middle of doing this. thanks

yes it matters which side they go on....all in the deep darkness of computer tuning they need to know which side is which. and if your in the middle of doing this...i would do whatever it takes to make it work the first time, but thats just me

There is a plastic piece on the extenders that you need to shave off in order to get them to fit. I've had to do this with both sets of O2 extensions I've used. I can't remember the brand of the first set, but the set I currently have is BBK.

yahtzee!!! i bought the same exact things and was pretty pissed off. i just got a sharp blade and hacked the tiny plastic "nub" off, then sanded it down. also, they were a little too long for my LTs so what i did was find a nice place to wrap the excess wire from the extensions around. find something that doesnt move or get hot and just wrap them around a few times. i forget hat i coiled mine around. maybe ill take a peak tomorrow if i have time and let u know.
