Electric Fuel Pressure Gauge Install
I've used the search and did not produce the results I was looking for. I have read all of the Autometer install doc and I understand it no problem. My dilema is where should I tie in the white wire (dash lighting)? The red wire goes to a switched 12v power source and the black is obviously a ground. I have a mechanical boost gauge and I used an add a circuit on port 37 (adjustable illuminaction) 5a on the fuse panel. I was considering using another add a circuit for the power and use port 21 (Instrument Cluster and Engine
Control Memory) 5a since I'm already using port 37. That will get me the switched 12v power and the ground is easy. Any thoughts on where to put the white wire?

I tapped my gauges into the light wire for the cig lighter. Mainly did it for ease of access, doesn take long at all to get at it.

I should have added I will be using the instrument cluster dual pod piece from autometer and the fuel pressure gauge will be on the far left as you are sitting in the car. The fuse panel is right there, so I would prefer to keep the wiring in that general area.

I mounted mine on the pillar, theres plenty of room to run a wire under the dash, I just found that to be easiest. I was looking near the switch for the lights first but its a bitch to get at any of that.

Which wire did you use on the cigarette lighter? I don't use it at all. In fact I have the "Eject" plug with no coil in it.

That part of the reason I used it too I dont smoke so I dont use it. Ill have to check the wire I used when I get home. Theres also plent of room there if you end up running 3 of more gauges.

Does anyone think it would hurt to tie in the white wire in with the red from the mechanical boost gauge that is on the add a circuit? I have the add a circuit plugged in to the illumination slot which will dim the gauge. I'm up for any other ideas or how to links. If not I guess I'll have to make my own how to for it.
