Unhappy

dont think this is normal......


Went to go replace my JLT CAI with a RAI because it rains so much down here, and look what i found when i took the CAI off... and i dont know what is causing it, but on that side, it seems like everything is coated in oil(shown in pictures)




valve cover:




anyone have any suggestions?

mine has some in the throttle body.. but i still have to stock rubber POS intake on mine so i dunno if there is any oil in mine...

yea.. i dont think a head gasket would throw oil that high.. but.. its always possible..

Maybe it's that hose that come from the head and connects to the intake?

That's what it does. I don't know the exact details on the why, but it is normal.
I bet if you took it off and looked, your plenum has a nice layer of oil as well.

Talked to AC, said it was because the cam lobe slings oil into that tube..

Yeah however it happens, it's not really that big of a deal. If emmissions isn't important you can cap off your intake and pit breathers on your heads.

you guys are talking about the pcv valve. that's one of your marvelous emissions inventions that takes the aerated oil that's being slung around and pulls it out of the valve cover and back through the intake to be burnt up in the combustion process instead of being release into the atmosphere. fucking hippies. anyways, if your state allows it in your inspections you can just replace that hose with a breather and cap off the hole in the intake, or you can buy and oil catch can.

i'd make your own. goto home depot and pick up an air compressor filter, and a few 3/8 barb's, and some hose, and your good to go.
